And now for something completely different. It's what we at BKFK call "Open Submission" or "Hey kids, dump the contents of your idea locker into entry forms and we will sort through it all looking for smart ideas and help you make good ones into reality."

In other words, your locker is filled with ideas - right? like how Edison kept 1600 journals...you keep kernels of ideas in your idea locker, right? Anyway. Now's the time to send them in.

Global Entrepreneurship Week is celebrated in November. As a lead up to this magnificent event, we are working with them and the Kauffman foundation to ask you to Unleash Your Ideas (not coincidentally, this is the name of the GEW event as well) and enter our competition. You have exactly one month to come up with ideas, submit old ones, even take an old one and make it better - resubmit a great idea with more detail or enhanced information.

So come on. Get going. Enter today.

Okay, so her dad is the bajillionaire orange juice king of Russia and she's been called the Paris Hilton of Russia but she's also a 15 year old fashion designer with 50 stores in Russia and new ones in NYC and appearances on America's Next Top Model and MTV's TRL.

I admit to being a bit of a cynic but her stuff is really cute - and it has the added bonus of being affordable too. Her designs are great, she is sweet and smart and talented. And she has support. BIG support.

When she was 14, her father recognized her talent and supported her efforts. When he saw her designs, he thought it was a great chance to diversify his business - and immediately hired teams of people to make it happen.

Unfortunately for the rest of us, not everyone's parents have access to the kind of resources she did.
BKFK can be that support for brilliant kids without access to those kinds of resources. We work to find the best ideas and then help give them support in the form of connecting to real life experiences, getting patents, licensing agreements.

We'll be launching an unleash your idea locker challenge on Wednesday, October 1. We'll be taking any and all entries - products, services, russian princess lines of clothing, you name it.

The New 90210

Well, we finally got a chance to catch it. Now THAT is some inventive reworking of an old show. I loved how they kept the spirit of the original show (and some of the cast) but brought it into modern times. As a parent, I'm not entirely crazy about the content of the show but perhaps over time, it will get back a bit on track.

If you've seen it, 90210 retro story aside, you know that it focuses on a pretty far fetched premise of a man's return to Beverly Hills to become high school principal at his alma mater. He moves his family from Wichita Kansas to Beverly Hills so they can care for his aging actress mother. The "twins" this time are the parents' biological daughter and an adopted son with some backstory that sounds potentially scandalous.

Now, THAT would make a great dramatization of a real life story. Maybe we'll get some entries with crazy dramatic versions of real life stories. What WOULD happen if your real life family moved to 90210? Who would you be in that school? If you were suddenly a student in the Gossip Girls' school, which one would you be?

Enter our competition today, tell us a story of you on television - it may win! And if it does, your video will be presented to a production company. But please, keep the entries PG!

Oh Boy! New Television!

From IMDB about Jonas Brothers.

The Jonas Brothers seem to be your typical teen rock band hoping to make it to the big time. They travel the country in their rickety tour bus, performing shows, selling homemade CDs and meeting fans. What a life! What the fans don't know is that the Jonas Brothers are actually J.O.N.A.S. - Junior Operatives Networking as Spies - who, along with their secret agent dad, are under assignment from a super-secret government agency out to thwart evil -- usually in the guise of Dr. Harvey Fleischman, a diabolical dentist out to take over the world's young adults. However, thwarting evil and saving the world can be difficult when you're also going to high school, keeping their secret identity from Mom, and being stalked by Stella Malone, a teenage reporter working undercover who's trying to get the behind-the-scenes scoop on your up-and-coming band.

I can't find concrete evidence of when the show starts though! Tv.com says September 1!

Think you could be the next Jonas Brothers style star? Give us your best idea starting September 2 and you might get your pilot sent to a real production company.

Gossip Girls, Heroes, America's Next Top Model, Grey's Anatomy and an ALL NEW 90210? At BKFK, we are so excited about the fall season, we're celebrating fall television by asking you to THINK BIG about your life.

We'll be running a 1month competition starting September - asking you to think about the following question. If your life story was on television, what would your show be like? Would you tell a reality story or a sitcom? Drama? What network would it be on?

Entries will be judged on creativity and presentation - that means that how you show us your content is just as important as WHAT you show us. Warm up your video cameras, flex your typing fingers, and stretch your imagination. Winners get $500 and BKFK will present your idea to a production house.

Good luck!

He and his synchronized diving partner placed 8th today. His presence has re-ignited interest in diving around the world! His attitude toward the games is wonderful.
Teens in the Olympics

Yes you got that right, we have quite a few teens who are making it big in the Olympics this year. I already came across more than 25 U.S. teens and while I'll try to introduce all of them in days to come, let me start off with this 17 year old Tae Kwon Do prodigy.

Charlotte Craig, a four-time Junior Olympic Taekwondo Champion, got her first taste of Taekwondo when she accompanied her father and brother to their Taekwondo sessions at just 2 years of age. Three years later, she was already taking lessons. And the rest as they say is history.

In addition to her medals at the U.S. Junior Olympic Championships, she earned a gold medal at the Junior Pan American Championships in Aruba. Charlotte took 1st place at the 2007 Pan Am Games Trials as well as the Olympic Trials Phase 1, and won herself a spot on the Olympic team. She is competing as a flyweight in the Being Olympics.
