Well, now that the Staples Invention Quest Kids competition has come to a close, we are launching the 2007 Invent-A-Toy World Games on January 3. The competition is similar to last year's which brought us three really cool inventions by kids:
- Water Tag - a new game for kids to play using a vest that has pockets filled with water. When you're playing games like tag or capture the flag, you can soak your friends or siblings. I wish I'd had this when I was a kid.
- Hands-On-Hands Clap Game - another game I wish I had. It is a practice game for playing clap games like Miss Mary Mack. Programmed with different games, kids can practice their clap games.
- EZ-Transitional Training Wheels - a 5 year old came up with this idea to make it easier for kids to learn how to ride bikes without training wheels.
So the next one launches and we will again be looking for the best toy or game. We got great ideas from Staples and are looking forward to reviewing the next ones.
It is one of the best parts of my job - the ideas are so wonderful. From the very real and very clever ideas to the "inventions" like the teleporter, they are great fun to read.
