Yesterday was very exciting for everyone here at
BKFK. After a long journey filled with GREAT inventions and WONDERFUL and COOL kids, we were able to be at NASDAQ when Staples President/COO Mike Miles opened the market.
The celebration of the 5 kid finalists and the Adult and Associate finalists started with a signature and much fanfare!
After the market opened, we all went out to Times Square to take pictures of all the kids and parents and our team. It was pretty amazing all around.
And, as usual, it was great to get to meet the kids who came up with such great ideas and meet the kinds of parents/families/support systems that produce creative kids. The parents of these kids must be so proud of the job they've done in nurturing their creativity and energy.
So who won? Well, all the kid finalists got $5,000 so they all won. Except the winner of Staples Invention Quest Kids got $25,000 and that winner is ... Keagan Bolibol.

Keagan is a 10-year-old fourth-grader from Woodinville, Washington. Her invention, the Problem Pad, is a dry erase page with various learning tools that fits into a binder. While working on a difficult homework assignment, Keagan realized there had to be an easy way to keep her homework from turning out so messy. After talking with her father, she came up with the Problem Pad.
She's bright and sweet and smart and just 10 years old. I can't wait to see her product on store shelves!
We will be updating
BKFK.com with new photos as they come in - especially of the other winners.
