Inventive Thinking Curriculum - Updated Free Lesson Plans

Our curriculum is based on the USPTO's Project XL. It has been updated for 21st Century Skills and aligned to No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Guidelines.

The curriculum opens up an exciting journey of inventive thinking and problem solving. The Teacher's Guide provides a “road map” to guide teachers and your students on a journey. The manual is both a training aid and a reference guide. As a training aid it will assist in teaching how to stimulate and inspire kids to develop ideas through problem solving. When used as a reference guide, it becomes a handy source of invention-management options to refer to again and again.

The program explores various ways to conceive of an idea and transform that idea into an invention or product. It enables teachers to convey methods that will manage and organize the inventing process in a systematic and orderly manner.

This year, we have extended the curriculum into additional lesson plans that include inspirational activities for all kinds of students. If you have a bright young student who is always drawing or designing something, you can use the Digital Arts Challenge Curriculum to get them engaged in visual storytelling. Want to reach that athlete who likes to take things apart? Challenge them to enter the Sports Evolution Challenge. Looking for a way to reach the fashionista and inspire them to think creatively and sharpen their thinking skills? The Signature Style Challenge could be just the opportunity. Last but certainly not least, every school has their share of activists. Take that passion and challenge them to enter the Going Green Challenge and REALLY make a difference and get their voice heard.

You could be the teacher who inspires them to make their dreams reality and win $10,000.
