Happy Valentine's Day

In celebration of Valentine's Day, we'll be looking at a young inventor who helped make healthy hearts. Two of our BKFK Kid inventors are brothers and are inspirational young men, inventing products that help both kids and adults. One of them invented a product to help people with pacemakers when he was 8 years old.

When Brandon Whale was just 5 years old, his mother received a pacemaker implant. He watched her regularly communicate her EKG to the hospital. It took a long time - she would sit with electronic sensors on her wrists and the results would be transmitted across telephone lines. His mother's wrists are very small and the because the wires would come loose, the sessions were time consuming and frustrating.

When he was in 3rd grade, Brandon invented the PaceMate to help improve the performance for his mother. He got a jeweler to help him with the fit of the bracelet. He also learned that electrolytes are better conductors than water and added an electrolytic solution. He soaked tiny sponges in the solution and added them to the bracelet.

He entered his invention to an Invention Convention and everything just took off from there. He was inducted into the National Gallery for America's Young Inventors in 1998.

Brandon's younger brother Spencer is also a talented inventor. He invented the KidCare Riding Car - a ride-on vehicle with an attached IV pole so that kids could have the freedom to play while getting their injections and parents can rest their minds from fear of needles pulling.

These brothers have changed the world with their inventions. Starting with an idea, they developed it into products that are helping people worldwide. You can do it too - and possibly win $10,000 while you're at it.

Register with BKFK.com today and get started on your winning innovation.
